Help Us Bridge the Gate-Drop Gap: Local Donations Needed
Everyone in Hull is affected by crime, addiction, and homelessness. When a person is released from HMP Hull with nothing but a plastic bag, a £76 grant, and zero support, the entire community feels the impact when the system fails them. Launchpad 72 is changing that reality—but we cannot do it entirely alone.
Through our partnership with Adapt Resettlement CIC, we are building immediate 72-hour survival tracks. To keep our “Gate-Drop Packs” stocked and ready for release days, we are launching an urgent appeal to local businesses and the people of Hull for practical resources, equipment, and volunteers.
What We Critically Need Right Now:
Clothing & Footwear
We need weather-appropriate clothing (tracksuits, hoodies, jackets, jeans) and sturdy footwear/trainers. Your donation replaces the stigmatizing, transparent plastic prison property bags with a clean kit and a solid backpack.
Toiletries & Towels
Basic human dignity starts with being clean. We require unused toiletries, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shower gel, shaving kits, and clean towels to help lads stabilize on day one.
Working Mobile Phones
A smartphone or basic burner phone is a literal lifeline. If you or your business have old, functional handsets lying around, we need them. We fit them with pre-loaded SIM cards so clients can immediately contact probation, housing, and family.
Preservable Food & Drink
Universal Credit takes 5 weeks to land. We need non-perishable, preservable food items, tinned goods, crisps, biscuits, bottled drinks, and long-life essentials to build immediate emergency food kits.
Pushbikes / Bicycles
Transport is a massive barrier to employment. If you have an old but functional pushbike, it can directly help an ex-offender commute to a new job, attend training courses, or make mandatory probation appointments on time.
Promotion, Space & Volunteers
We are looking for local Hull businesses to help us advertise, offer drop-off collection spaces, or spread the word. If you have time to spare, we are also building a network of grounded, passionate volunteers to help sort and distribute packs.
How to Drop Off or Coordinate a Collection
Whether you are a local independent business with surplus stock, a corporate team looking to sponsor a drive, or an individual with gear to spare, your resourcefulness changes lives on Hedon Road.
