Our Shared Vision

A Stronger Hull: Why Helping at the Gates Benefits Our Entire Community

When a person steps out of HMP Hull onto Hedon Road with nothing but a £76 grant and a transparent plastic property bag, their immediate survival choices are incredibly limited. But the reality is that the outcome of those first 72 hours does not just affect the individual—it ripples across our entire city.

Crime, addiction, and homelessness are not isolated problems that stay behind closed doors. They affect families, strain local emergency services, impact independent business owners, and change how safe people feel walking down the street. Launchpad 72 is built on a simple truth: rehabilitation is a community asset.

The Ripple Effect: How Successful Resettlement Helps Hull

🛡️

Safer Streets & Fewer Victims

The most direct way to reduce crime in Hull is to eliminate the desperate conditions that cause it. By stepping in at the gate with an immediate phone, dry clothes, and survival vouchers, we take away the immediate urge to commit survival-driven retail theft or property crime on day one.

🏥

Relieving Strain on Public Services

Every time an individual relapses or enters a housing crisis immediately upon release, it costs local taxpayers heavily through emergency blue-light callouts, hospital admissions, and administrative court hearings. Preventing that initial 72-hour crash keeps vital local resources free for everyone else.

🏗️

Building Productive Local Workers

Through our long-term Careers & Skills track, we show clients how to use Jobcentre resources properly to gain trade certificates (like CSCS or SIA licences). We are actively converting individuals from a drain on the community into reliable, tax-paying workers who support local East Yorkshire industries.

The Power of a Share: How You Can Help Us Grow for Free

We are a grassroots initiative working alongside the directors at Adapt Resettlement CIC. Because we are focused on direct, ground-level action, we do not have a massive corporate marketing budget. To get this project in front of the right people, we rely entirely on the power of community word-of-mouth.

Whether you are a regular citizen, a local business manager, or a support worker—your awareness keeps our gates open. Help us put an end to the failure loop on Hedon Road.
